12 Baskets Ministry

Jesus miraculously fed 5,000 men one day with only a few loaves and fishes, and twelve baskets of leftovers were even gathered after everyone had eaten.  Here at First Church, we believe that we can continue some of that same miraculous generosity by reaching out to a different ministry in our local community, nation, or world each month.  Below is our schedule for 2021.  Donations of goods (when applicable) can be brought by the church office and placed in the blue bins outside the church office anytime the church is open.  You may also bring them with you to worship on Sundays and there is a collection point in the narthex of the sanctuary as well.

2021 Schedule

January

Souper Bowl of Caring

We are currently collecting nonperishable food items as part of this month’s 12 Baskets Ministry in conjunction with Souper Bowl of Caring, a national youth-inspired movement working to tackle hunger in local communities.
These donations will benefit Rowan Helping Ministries in Salisbury.
You may bring your nonperishables for donation to the church office between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
The Souper Bowl of Caring drive will end on Super Bowl Sunday (February 7) in a culminating event on the church grounds. Stay tuned for more details about this in the coming weeks.
If you have any questions, please contact Sarah King at mackandsarah@firstumcchinagrove.org.
Thank you for helping us fill this need.
